Sendy stuck at 140 emails when sending campaign

$

This is the first time I send a campaign after upgrading to 1.1.7.

Only 140 messages (of a little bit less than 6000) were sent, and Sendy is stuck for 4h in that state.

screenshot

SES allows me to send 50000 emails per day, and I have 49700 available for today.

Cronjobs are working fine, and the server is configured to allow up to 512MB per PHP script.

Unfortunately there are no resume, pause, stop controls, I don't know what to do to restart my campaign.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

How to send only 500 mails per hour

$

Hi,

I searched for how to do this, and only saw somebody write that it could be done... But how?

As you know, thanks to "human investigation" by Amazon SES, I cannot use their service, so I'm stuck with my web host :(

My host has a limit of 500 mails per hour - which I didn't know - and which could explain the low opening rate when I sent out to a list of 1300 subscribers. Almost 2/3 never got the mail.

So if I can set up the system to send to 500 at a time, it will "only" take me three hours to reach the 1300 subscribers.

Stupid people at Amazon make me really angry :( But there's nothing much to do, I guess.

Adding Additional Fields To A Subscribe Page Via API...

Hello!

I have created a 'Subscribe' page using the provided code within my Sendy installation. However, I am unclear on how I can add additional fields (i.e. 'What List Do You Want To Subscribe To?', An Active Subscriber Count and 'I Am At Least Thirteen Years Of Age'). How would this look within my code?

Thanks!

Okay, how do I do that :D

I've avoided this problem so far, but my time with AWeber is almost up (the 29th), so I have to get started soon.

We have some subscribers who'd paid for a membership, and every two weeks they get a new lesson.

From AWeber, I have their sign up date in this format: 04/18/13 11:22:58

I guess I should add it to the database, but in the timestamp field? Or the Join_Date field?

And in which format? As a Unix timestamp?

I found this online converter to help me if that's the case: http://www.onlineconversion.com/unix_time.htm

Amazon Simple Email Service Sending Suspended Due to Critical Issue

Hello,

I am using Sendy for the past week and yesterday i've got an email from Amazon saying that my account was suspended. All of my emails are coming from my newsletter form on my website, i didn't sent spam emails, every time i sent an email i checked the score with Spamassasin and it was 0. I did SPF and DKIM. I really don't know what to do now and how can i appeal so they can unban my account.

The only bad thing that i think is that i had kinda high bounce rate and yesterday i just signed up to email-checker.com to verify the emails before trying to send any email. I had setup an autoresponder and sent 2 emails campaigns.

I would really appreciate any help on how i can fix this problem and remove the suspension.

Here is the email that i got.

============

Dear Amazon Simple Email Service Customer:

Your Amazon Simple Email Service (Amazon SES) sending privileges have been suspended, effective immediately.

This immediate suspension occurred because we have detected significant issue(s) with your sending pattern that require us to immediately suspend your sending privileges in order to protect the sending of all Amazon SES customers. This supersedes any previous probation warnings you may have received.

If you wish to appeal this suspension, please respond to this email with details of how you will change your sending in order to avoid this problem or why you think this notice may be incorrect.

The issue(s) triggering your suspension at this time, updated to reflect current statistics, are:

*Critically Low Content Quality: Over the last approximately 10,000 email messages you sent, a critically high percentage were identified as spam by our filters.

We carefully track each customer's bounce, complaint, and content metrics in order to improve inbox delivery for all Amazon SES customers. For further details about each of these metrics and tips on how to improve them, please see the Amazon SES Email Sending Best Practices Whitepaper at http://media.amazonwebservices.com/AWS_Amazon_SES_Best_Practices.pdf.

Sincerely,

The Amazon SES Team

Lighttpd (Lighty) URL Rewrite Support

I just purchased Sendy and am stumped with the rewrites. I've seen similar posts for NGINX but none for Lighttpd, which is what I run on my server.

Can anyone provide their rewrite rules for Lighttpd or have any ideas?

Thanks a ton,

Zack

--- UPDATE FOR THOSE WITH SAME ISSUE ---

This seemed to do the trick for me. Will update if I discover a better solution:

url.rewrite-if-not-file = ( "^([^?]*)(\?.*)?$" => "$1.php$2" )

Bounce and Complaint question

We currently use SES for our transactional emails for order software. I have just installed sendy, if I enable bounce and complaint support, and a transactional email bounces or a complaint filed, will this remove or adjust our Sendy list?

Campaign not sending (Cron issue, I assume)

I have a new install of Sendy on a ubuntu stack from Bitnami installed on EC2. I have setup the cron job and the server syslog shows:

Jun 18 19:30:01 CRON[18548]: (root) CMD (php /opt/bitnami/apache2/htdocs/sendy/scheduled.php > /dev/null 2>&1)

Jun 18 19:35:01 CRON[18636]: (root) CMD (php /opt/bitnami/apache2/htdocs/sendy/scheduled.php > /dev/null 2>&1)

Jun 18 19:40:01 CRON[18714]: (root) CMD (php /opt/bitnami/apache2/htdocs/sendy/scheduled.php > /dev/null 2>&1)

Jun 18 19:45:01 CRON[18790]: (root) CMD (php /opt/bitnami/apache2/htdocs/sendy/scheduled.php > /dev/null 2>&1)

Jun 18 19:50:01 CRON[18868]: (root) CMD (php /opt/bitnami/apache2/htdocs/sendy/scheduled.php > /dev/null 2>&1)

Jun 18 19:55:01 CRON[18942]: (root) CMD (php /opt/bitnami/apache2/htdocs/sendy/scheduled.php > /dev/null 2>&1)

So I assume it is running. I set up a test message and it does not seem to be sending.

I following a previous forum thread and reset cron setup, created a new campaign and see the "Blue Cron setup modal" box.

Any tips on how to proceed?

Redirect loop upon clicking the install button

After uploading all files and getting the database info to clear, I put in my license key and name/email and hit install. It started this looping deal. I grabbed part of the url here: http://blastoffemail.com/login?redirect=login?redirect=login?redirect=login?redirect=login?redirect=login?redirect=login?redirect=login?redirect=login

The only error I saw was: mod_rewrite is not enabled However, just under that it said I could continue without that.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Matt

Importing Users - Update fields option

Hi Ben,

I see that when one re-imports users, their information (Name) remains unchanged and we have to do this manually for each subscriber. I suggest that a "Update fields" checkbox option be included on the import screen, whereby subscriber fields are updated should the checkbox be checked.

Thanks

CSV Export Issue with Commas

It appears that we're having an issue involving the exporting of CSV files. If the data includes a comma it is not being exported properly and ends up having two columns. I believe this could be solved by following the standards listed here, http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc4180 . Please let me know if there are any plans to fix this.

Is there anywhere I can see a list of who clicked what link and when?

I'd really like to know which customers have clicked on links or opened the email is there anyway to access this data?

Are the click and open counts just counts or are they aggregates of a log table?

Drip Campaigns and Conversion

I want to build a drip campaign for our new free users and stop that campaign when they sign up for our premium service.

I figured the best way to do this would be to set up a list for free users and a list for premium users.

When new free users sign up I can add them to the free list which will have the drip campaign set-up on it.

If they subscribe to our premium service I can remove them from the free list and add them to the premium list.

Presumably this will stop any yet to be delivered autoresponders from the drip campaign on the list they've been removed from?

Happily up and running

Hi there, just installed Sendy yesterday. Everything went smooth except for me missing both your note and amazon's note about SNS region for the feedback setup. How did I manage to miss both notes!? They really stand out now I see them of course.

I'm up and running completely on amazon using a T1.Micro EC2 instance to host both the web app and the sql server. One thing that would be handy is a walkthough for getting sendy installed on EC2. I know little at all about linux but managed it following a wordpress walkthrough.

The longest part of the process was mostly waiting for amazon and DNS servers.

SES Limit of 10,000

Hi Ben,

Please can you clarify what happens when we reach the 10 000 limit? Let's say I have 500 credits left and I send to a list of 2000 recipients. Will Amazon automatically charge my card and automatically allocate me another 10 000 credits, or will Sendy stop sending after the first 500 in the queue?

Thanks

Thanks!

Spanish accented characters not working on certain devices

$

I recently created a campaign using Sendy. I tested it in different email providers and devices. In most of them (Outlook, Yahoo! Mail, Gmail, Mac Mail App) it works just fine, but in others (certain iPhone's and iPad's Mail App) the Spanish characters such as á é í ó ú and ¡ don't display correctly.

My code is as follows:

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

<html lang="es"> (I have also tried it without the "lang='es'")

<head>

    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8"> (I have also tried with just meta charset="utf-8">)

    <style>

        //some styles

        //some @media queries

    </style>

</head>

<body>

    //code, code, code...

</body>

</html>

The weird thing is that in some iPhone's and iPad's it displays correctly, but in other's it completely messes up the Spanish characters.

Any idea on how to fix this?

Thanks in advance.

"Forgot Password" not sending any email

Hi Ben,

I recently tried the "Forgot Password" in the login page but I didn't receive any email. And now I can't login to Sendy at all.

What should I do?

Not sure though, but I believe I have filled the SES credential in settings.

Emails sent to lists outside selected ones

I'm a new user to Sendy and recently installed and set it up to replace an existing phplist install. The logic worked well with "brands" being like clients that I had. However, out the gate I've had a pretty major problem. One of my brand accounts sent to their lists and somehow Sendy included a list from another client which resulted in a high number of unsubscribes/spam reports. I'm not for sure how this is even possible - brand accounts are fully separate, right? And there isn't blocking between them for data access?
