How to get number of emails sent between two dates?

Is there a way to know how many emails were sent between two dates (for example between 01 january 2013 and 01 may 2013) ?

I upgraded recently to 1.1.6.3. I've had no issues before with Sendy. Yesterday i sent a campaign to 25,000 subscribers but Campaign list still shows the campaign as "Sending" and Recipients count 0(0%).

Looks like sendy doesn't work properly.

I'm getting following errors:

How to filter active users?

I am having trouble to find out how to filter users in a list.

For example, my main list has 20 mil subscribers, but not all of them are active (they don´t open emails anymore, at least mine). Sometimes, it is important to send them emails, however most of time I would just send emails to active users (those that open emails and click).

How can I separate active users?

UTF8 encoding issue with iOs Mail app

With all mails sent with Sendy we're experiencing this very issue: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/5193599/php-utf8-mail-gets-garbled-on-iphone-mail-app

Basically, accented characters (á, é, etc.) and other symbols get replaced by multiple symbols only on iOs mail app. Gmail works fine. The only way around it is to manually replace á, é, etc. with their entities (á, é, etc.).

UTF8 meta tags are correctly specified in the HTML, so the problem is likely that Sendy is missing a certain encoding header when sending e-mails. Is this possible?

error "We've detected that bounces or complaints have not been setup."

whenever i try to send an email sendy tells me that " We've detected that bounces or complaints have not been setup." i am 100% sure that i followed everystep on the getting started page, i also contacted amazon and they granted me production state which they grant only if you made such things as i think i choose "send anyway" and sendy completes and sends the newsletter but will this be of any problem?

Would it be possible to add a list unsubscribe header to emails sent from Sendy? I understand that this is a reputable thing for bulk marketing senders to use?

Cannot login to Sendy after db / files restore.

Hi there,

I've been using Sendy for a few weeks with great results, so thanks for that.

Last night though, my server went down, and I had to restore the database and files from a backup taken 36hours ago.

Now when I go to login, I cannot access the backend at all. I just keep being redirected to www.example.com/login

I know that the username and password are correct because I use LastPass and have not altered anything.

I was wondering if you have any ideas about what might be causing this issue and how I might go about sorting it out.

MySQL Indexes on subscribers.email and subscribers.list

I know you said no multiple times on threads that are now closed, but we can't find no reason why this wouldn't be an improvement worth of including in the next version.

We did this in our install after seeing imports hang and never finish, and it doesn't seem to slow down subscriber inserts and updates. To the contrary, a simple index on the email field significantly speeds up CSV imports and subscriber additions (like 20-50 times the speed, for a subscribers table of 200k subscribers on an EC2 micro instance, from 3-5 subscribers every second to around 100 subscribers per second), and the list index significantly speeds up the Lists page (again, like 20-50 times or more).

It should also make subscriber imports and updates faster, since you locate the subscriber by e-mail, and without an index that will take much longer to locate.

(If I'm not mistaken, the only way indexes would slow down the app is if you indexed a field that needs to be editable. Subscribers' e-mails and list IDs never get updated, thus the index is not changed except for new records).


bounce_soft dont count higher than 1

Hi my setup are the latest sendy, latest nginx and latest mariadb.

everything works nice except the softbounces. the first time it counts 1 in the subscribers table but not the second and third time, it seems like reset to 0 and set 1 everytime. i got no errors on any software i use.

Commas in "From" Name

I notice that Sendy can't have commas in the "From" name. Is there any workaround for this? E-mails need to appear as if they were sent by our users from their own clients as opposed to in bulk, and that appears Last, First based on our e-mail server setup. This doesn't seem to be an Amazon SES limitation because I've used other SES products that support this. If it is an SES limitation, can I workaround it by using an SMTP server?

Updated to 1.1.6.3 and now cannot get a login screen

I get the following error message - "Can't connect to database There is a problem connecting to the database. Please try again later".

My previous install was 1.1.4

I followed the update instructions and now cannot get into Sendy.

As there was only 3 things to watch out for, I didn't bother to back-up the previous file. Bugger, bugger bugger!!! If I had not updated I would still be OK

I have been beside myself for the past 12 hours trying to figure out what I did wrong to no avail.

My installation is on www,outstandingresultsworld.com/sendy

Please help. I am really not that tech savvy but I know

Re-install or just move when changing hosting?

I'm moving hosting from GoDaddy to Amazon EC2. I'm keeping the same domain name, and now the domain is now re-pointed to the new hosting. Since I've got the same domain name (and I'm keeping the domain registered with GoDaddy, so all my DKIM/SPF/etc. is still in place for the domain), can I just move all the files over, and export my db and import on the new box? I'd have to bring the db with me regardless, but is there any benefit to reinstalling vs. moving app files over.

Login redirecting to different subdomain (www vs no www)

I have Sendy installed at http://www.mydomain.com/sandy/ (not my real domain). When I login, I see a redirection to http://mydomain.com/sandy/ which then redirects me back to http://www.mydomain.com/sandy/login, prompting me to login again. This cycle will repeat indefinitely.

After the first login attempt, manually entering the URL http://www.mydomain.com/sandy/ will get me to the main dashboard screen, correctly logged in. Thereafter, everything works fine. I presume this is because my license file is showing as registered to mydomain.com rather than www.mydomain.com.

(I see the same behaviour if I login using http://mydomain.com/sandy/login.)

I've checked my .htaccess rules and can't see anything that would rewrite the base URL to include a www prefix, so I guess this is being done by Sandy itself? Do I just need a new license key that includes the www prefix, or is there a more straight forward fix I can apply, to avoid this two-step login?

Trouble with installation

AutoResponder Not Sending

Hi,

My autoresponders dont seem to be working OR only work some times. They have sent some emails- but not all. I have them setup to send 1 minute after. I Use Bluehost and I have setup the cron job as directed. The autoresponder has sent out over 3000 emails already- but seems to have stalled recently.

The cron is still set to:

          • php /home4/makemoq2/public_html/{mysite}/sendy/autoresponders.php > /dev/null 2>&1

(with {mysite} being my actual site.

In the last hour I have had 20 new signups via the api- I can see them when I click on my subscriber list-- Last Activity, Subscribed, 10 Minutes ago.

BUT when I dig in and look at the autoresponder for this list it shows 3453 emails have been sent. However this is the same number it said 3 hours ago (I wrote it down). Over the last 3 hours I have had dozens of new signups and the autoresponder is still set to send 1 minute after- but it still says only 3452 have been sent.

Define/manage client permissions

AFAIK, Sendy does not implement any kind of control over the actions than clients can perform, aside from those directly associated to charging them.

In my organization, I can't always trust that our clients will always do "the right thing". For instance, I am pretty sure that a lot of clients will simply delete the addresses that bounced or complained on one of their campaings. This would be okay per se, but I am also pretty sure that someone will simply re-upload the whole list of subscribers (including the bounced and deleted ones) some time later, just because they've added a couple of addresses there. This is when things would go very wrong, with sendy trying to deliver more emails to the bouncing or complaining addresses.

Hence, I would like to ask you to implement some permission controls that allowed the admin to prevent clients from performing certain functions. My initial list of such permissions is:

  • Disallow importing new addresses
  • Disallow e-mail removal from list (yet allow unsubscription)
  • Disallow manual confirmation of users
  • Disallow switching from double-optin to optin for their lists
  • Disallow addition of new lists

My clients would then have to contact us to perform this actions. This would allow us to implement and follow proper policies to ensure that our SES account doesn't get compromised by badly behaving clients.

Edit: It would be even better if those settings were per-client, but we could manage with global settings too.

No Email Received

Since I installed Sendy, I was not able to receive any of the email I sent to myself. None of the similar topics did resolve my problem...

  • Email adresses and domains are verified (DKIM + SPF)
  • I have production access on SES
  • I can send emails from the Amazon SES console and receive them
  • I receive test emails from Sendy
  • I don't receive any of the emails I sent to different email adresses (even thought I receive the "Campaign sent" email and my quota is decremented in the SES Console)
  • I tried to send email containing only "hello", and only alphanumeric characters in "From name", but it does not work either
