Cross reference unsubscribe link to a specific name/email address?

$

First off I'd like to say we have been using Sendy for the last few weeks and it has been a TERRIFIC tool! Now on to the question...

I tried searching but either the question has not been asked or my Google-fu is weak on this one. My apologies if it has been asked/answered.

Is there a way to decode and cross reference the Unsubscribe link to know who a specific email was sent to?

We have received a few "complaint" responses from AOL, Comcast, etc. but the email addresses have been redacted or cloaked with an alternative address in these "complaints" so we are not able to remove the email addresses of the recipients. Since the Unsubscribe link seems to still be intact, we are hoping it can be used to do some sort of "reverse lookup".

We'd really like to maintain good customer relations as well as minimize the chance of being blackballed by ISP's so any help with this will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Auto responder for downloading PDFs

Quick one for you..

I've got perhaps 10-20 PDF files which I want to make available for download on my website.

I'm thinking of using sendy to handle this with auto responders on email submission including download links for each file.

I'm guessing I'll have to create a separate list for each PDF download file so that the users gets the link and download they're looking for. However I would only like to operate one master email list.

Is there a way of automatically adding each email address submitted to my master list as well as sending the correct auto responder? Or will I end up with a load of lists with a small number of emails on each?

Thanks.

Cron job setup in Dreamhost

Hi Everyone.

Trying to setup a Cron job in dreamhost with no luck. Does anyone know where I am going wrong?

I've screenshoted the settings screen - you can view it here. https://www.dropbox.com/s/evv3kue3syx7szl/Screenshot 2014-08-12 12.36.29.png

I reckon it could be the command line I am using - it is currently php /home/mediamtest1/media-junction.com/scheduled.php > /dev/null 2>&1

Thanks for the help in advance.

Use case for passing subscription data into subscribe success page

$

Hello just upgraded to v1.1.9.4: What the possible usage for this?

You can also pass 'Email' and 'listID' data into the 'Subscribe success page'
Example:
http://domain.com/subscribed.php?email=%e&listid=%l
%e will be converted into the 'email' and %l will be converted into the 'listID' that unsubscribed.

Thanks,
Guille

Sendy Mod: Webhooks for non-SES event handling

$

I've setup a framework for handling webhooks when using other providers than Amazon SES. Right now it supports Mandrill and Critsend and is based on the solutions I found here in the forum as well as the developer documentation at their respective sites.

You can get (or contribute to) the code here: https://github.com/BlaineMoore/sendy-webhooks

Basically, copy these files into a "webhooks" folder (or wherever you like) and then point the events processor to the appropriate file. If you want to create one for a different service, then just use the existing ones as templates. You basically just need to include the webhooks config file, and then call the appropriate functions for hard bounce, soft bounce or spam complaint. It also includes built in debug logging for during development (I recommend shutting that off in production.)

Subscribe to different list based on checkbox selected at signup form stage?

Apologies if this has already been asked, I looked and had no luck.

Q:

I currently use a simple sign up form that only asks for the email. It adds leads to a list that has an auto responder attached to it. Simple stuff. However ... I'd love to be able to add in some segmenting on-the-fly.

E.G, I could have a signup form with a drop-down box with two choices, like so:

Email: Sex: M / F

Those that select 'M' get subscribed to a list created only for 'M' subscribers which has the auto responder sequence tweaked for 'M' ...

And those who select 'F' go on a 'F' list ...

I basically would like to segment on-the-fly rather than after the fact, so that the auto responder feature can be used.

Is that possible?

If so, how hard?

Huge thanks in advance!

Autoresponders from subscribers

A lot of my subscribers set autoresponders notifying senders that they are on vacation or have changed jobs, etc. So after each campaign, I end up receiving a bunch of email from my subscribers' autoresponders. I'm sure some of you have experienced this. What do you do about it?

Emails not sending now but used to work

I set up a campaign exactly the same as I always do, chose the list I wanted to send to, it's telling me that it's sending it, but there's no opens, no bounces, no unsubscribes, and it's not taking off the emails sent from the quota on Amazon SES!

It's worked fine, now it's telling me it's sending out, but it's clearly not, I'm not even receiving any test emails??

Anyone had a similar problem? Know a fix?

Blank page when clicking on unsubscribe

TD;DR: Everything seems perfectly fine, except that people cannot unsubscribe, they are redirected a blank page.

Here is an unsubscribe link for example: link I generated it using the [unsubscribe] shortcode.

Everything seems to work fine except that. Web preview works link, link tracking also. I can even see that the unsubscribe link got clicked, but no one got unsubscribe.

It's an apache server running on ubuntu. I see nothing suspicious in my error log (even with LogLevel debug) and here is how the vhost is configured:

    <Directory /home/sendy_web/www/htdocs>
            Options Indexes FollowSymLinks MultiViews
            AllowOverride All
            Order allow,deny
            allow from all
    </Directory>

Reports on drip campaigns? Statistics?

Hello,

I can't seem to find a way to see how many people open my drip campaigns. Is there a stat dashboard on the amount of opens over automatic emails?

Perhaps a general dash where I can see list wide open rates/email sends?

[Name] personalisation tag in campaign comes through as [Name]

Hi,

I'm just getting to grips with Sendy. It's awesome, but my first few tests haven't been completely successful.

When using [Name] in a campaign, with the name and email defined in the list, the email just reflects "Dear [Name]" although the [Email] tag did get converted correctly.

I'm using the latest version, 1.1.9.4

AIs there any easy way to debug it?

Thanks

Matt.

Multi event newsletter subscription compatible with Sendy?

$

Hi there Ben,

I'd love to know if there is an off-the-shelf "multi event newsletter subscription sign-up" php script / product that is compatible with Sendy?

For example something like: http://codecanyon.net/item/multi-events-subscription-pop/2902529 I'd like to be able to have people subscribe based on particular events, such as:

  • Visiting the website for the first time
  • Exiting a web page
  • Clicking a link
  • On scrolling, etc.

If you know of anything that is compatible, that would be great.

Thank you!

Michelle
