SSL/HTTPS for admin interface only

Any way to enable SSL on the admin interface but have the actual mail and associated links be just http?
We can't afford yet another ssl cert for the subdomain we use with sendy, but would like to use ssl for the admin interface.
For example I can do this in joomla.
